Lady Demelza Trevelyan
Race: Human
Class: Warrior; Great Sword; Champion
Country: Free Marches; Ostwick
Love Interest: Knight Captain Rylen
- First born child of Bann & Lady Trevelyan, Demelza is a tempestuous woman who values democracy but will be the first to draw her sword when it's needed. She works hard to keep her temper under control as she is the heir to Ostwick she feels she must maintain a certain personality and appearance in order to not disappoint her parents.
- She is protective of her younger sisters though she spends most of her time trying to reign in Harmony. She feels that Fallon is not as much work and therefore doesn't spend much of her time with her especially as she begins to take on some of her parents responsibilities and has much less time to spend with either of her sisters.
- Once the Conclave has been destroyed, she accompanies Harmony to Haven in order to find out exactly what is happening with Fallon and to keep her father from marching on the small village. She takes on an ambassadorial role working with Josephine making connections throughout Thedas.
- She maintains a professional distance from the soldiers and only really speaks to Cullen though even that tends to be very rare. She maintains the viewpoint that most problems can be solved with words rather than swords and tries to impart this onto her youngest sister who tends to agree with Cullen that a show of force gets results faster.
- During the attack on Haven, Demelza helps herd the people of Haven into the Chantry and is one of the few nobles to use a weapon i so doing. She shows with no uncertainty that her skills with a great sword are second only to her diplomatic skills and manages to impress a great many of the soldiers with whom she fought next to that night.
- She is absolutely furious with Cullen when he lets Fallon go back out of the Chantry to give them time to escape and was minutes away from leaving their camp in the mountains to find Fallon when she sees Cullen, Cassandra and a few soldiers leaving. She is at her sisters side as she recovers and keeps a close eye on the younger girl as they undertake the journey to Skyhold.
- She's with Leliana and Josephine when the latter two women begin to notice the bond between Cullen and Fallon growing. She is decidedly concerned as the man is a failed Templar and has no ties or connections to anything outside of the Inquisition. Any time she tries to talk to Fallon about it she is brushed off or outright ignored.
- It's seen as a hilarious coincidence when Demelza starts to get closer to Knight Captain Rylen as the journey to Skyhold progresses, Harmony has more fun than is necessary bugging her sister about it and Fallon just smirks and tells her that he has no ties or connections to anything outside of the Inquisition and is considered a failed Templar for not supporting the Chantry.
- The main thing that draws Demelza to Rylen is that he doesn't treat her like some fragile princess. He treats her like he would any other woman he was interested in. She will would never admit it but his accent makes her knees weak and she fantasizes about where else he has tattoos. The two become more physically involved once they've arrived in Skyhold and she maintains - even of it's just to herself - that there are no feelings, she's simply using him to "scratch an itch" and it's a mutually beneficial arrangement.
